The end of the series Big Love is nigh and I, for one, am not happy about it. This little look into polygamy (even though it is said to be far from the truth) in Utah has been endlessly eye opening. I’m not so much into the political goings-on that Big Love focuses on but I am interested in the interpersonal dynamics of all of the characters. Because the characters aren’t “legally” married, I don’t think it’s any different than a man having affairs with other women and having children with other women. This happens in society all the time so I’m not sure why this is such a big deal.
“We’ll get by, I know it.” – Margene
The problems I foresee are many. Alby is never good news and him returning after “cleansing” himself in the desert is not particularly uplifting. His wife is as crazy as ever and by allowing Alby’s mother to come out of the ground where they seemingly imprisoned her is kind of scary. She’s going to have a ton of fun with that phantom baby, as well.
Bill has his hands full with trying to not get assassinated by the angry people in his constituency and with Nikki who is going to single handedly screw everything up. Barb isn’t a drinker, as Bill said, but she’s flipping tired of this mess that has been her life so I predict that she will be bowing out of the series before long. Margene is going to get with that new motivational speaker and forsake Bill’s plural marriage lifestyle in one fell swoop. Either that or Margene will marry Bill’s eldest son, whichever comes first now that Goran is soon to be out of the picture. Nikki is beyond hopeless. She’ll probably take a bullet for Bill or something and die and we will all miss the rigid woman who made a lot of people angry a lot of the time.
What do you think is going to happen? Any Big Love fans out there, on the interwebs?
