I am going to blog about my trip to New York City but I would just like to ask a question first. This piece in the Museum if Modern Art confused me. It wasn’t like it was the first vertical blind ever since it was done in 2008. Yes, most vertical blinds are not on the floor which puts it in a different position than we are used to. But is it art?
Sometimes I dislike the explanations that museums give for what artists do since it seems contrived and not exactly fitting. On the other hand, if you don’t have that, you just have a vertical blind on the floor and nothing else to say but “wow, there seems to be no point to this.”
What do you think? Is it art?
