Jalapeno Popper Soup

12 jalapeno, seeds removed
1 red onion
4 cloves garlic
2 cups heavy cream
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
4 cups chicken stock
4 oz cream cheese, cubed
1 lime, juice
salt and pepper
bacon, cooked and crumbled for garnish
sour cream for garnish

1. In a blender, add roughly chopped jalapeno, onion, and garlic. Puree mixture until smooth. Add cream.

2. . In a stock pot, melt butter. Sprinkle with flour and cook, stirring frequently, until golden.

3. Add jalapeno mixture, stirring frequently. Add chicken stock and cream cheese and bring to a simmer. Simmer soup, stirring occasionally, until soup is thick and slightly reduced about 30 minutes.

4. Add lime juice then salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with bacon and sour cream as garnish.
